So all the brake bosses have been ground off and it’s off to the sand blaster to get the paint off. Then we will weld on the disc brake tabs and get her ready for the body work. This bike should be finished in a few weeks. Stay tuned for updates!

Erick’s Foes Weasel…

I got a killer deal on a brand new never built up Foes Weasel. So we are going to do her up proper.

DSC_0019

This Foes is going to get converted to disc in the rear. As well as the cable guides changed for disc like the other Weasel.

DSC_0025

The triple cable guide will be taken off and replaced with a single one.

DSC_0024

The brake posts will be cut off and erased. Just like the other Weasel. This frame will be repainted and given the full treatment. Since it is being made for Erick from my shop this will be a very personal build up of the frame. He will be working on it as time permits. Stay tuned. More to Come!!

Foes Weasel Rebuild.

DSC_0030

Well here we go with another Foes Weasel. This frame already has the new disc brake cable guides on it. And the shifter cable guide moved to the right side of the frame.

DSC_0032

Here is a close up of the cable guides welded on the frame.

DSC_0033

This is the Front Derailleur cable guide.

DSC_0028

This swing arm was broken. So we put a piece of aluminum on it to stiffen it back up and welded the cracks back up.

DSC_0026 DSC_0027

These are close ups of the welds we did on the swing arm. My personal Foes Weasel is fixed just like this. Works great. Ridden mine a lot downhill and it is holding up great. No problems after the fix.

If you have a Weasel and you want to fix the swing arm and convert it to disc just gimme a ring and we can see what we can do for you. These frames are worth rebuilding and saving. We can fix her up just as good or better than new. Give us a call. 208-755-4921

Cannondale Under Construction.

A customer brought us a Cannondale f500 that was in need of a repaint and some modifications. This is the first post in the rebuild of this bicycle.

DSC_0015

So here she is in all her glory. This is the before photo all together.

DSC_0016

Here is a photo of the front end.

DSC_0037

Here she is all striped down. The customer rides mostly on the street. So he wants to keep the headshock stock. We will be adding disc brake tabs to the frame and fork for him as well as repainting the frame and fork.

DSC_0038 DSC_0039 DSC_0041

We will start by removing the cantilever brake bosses and cable guides from the frame and fork. Once that is finished the frame will be sand blasted. Then we will weld on the disc brake tabs. Then the priming and body work will be done on the frame. I got everything cut off and ground and will post photos tomorrow of my work. This will be a series of posts dedicated to this bicycle until it is finished. This is an example of the kinds of things we do. A lot of older frames are great to be brought up to today’s disc brakes. They are American Made and of high quality. The perfect frame set to start your custom build on. Why buy new when you can renew and have just as good?
